Big Fish Mojo Sportfishing Charter Safety agreement
After booking a charter, clients are required to agree, via our Service Agreement, that they (and all guests) will follow all safety guidelines, protocols, and orders given by Captain Jacob V. Abbisso (and/or partnering Captains, if operating a “buddy boat” style trip) while on charter. Captain Jacob V. Abbisso (and partnering Captains, if applicable) reserves the right to end a trip at any time if a client’s conduct is deemed reckless or unsafe aboard our vessel (or the vessel of a partnering Captain).
Big Fish Mojo Sportfishing Drugs/Alcohol Policy + USCG “Zero Tolerance Policy”
After booking a charter, clients are also required to agree, via our Service Agreement, to the three paragraphs below:
1) The client (and all guests) agree to follow the United States Coast Guard’s “Zero Tolerance Policy” while on charter with Big Fish Mojo Sportfishing. This policy strictly prohibits bringing any substances aboard a charter that are illegal under Federal Law, INCLUDING any form of cannabis.
2) The client (and all guests) certify they understand no alcohol is allowed aboard any Big Fish Mojo Sportfishing charter EXCEPT on our Marblehead Harbor Cruise/Sightseeing Trip, our Private Seal Watching Trip, and our Private Whale/Dolphin Watching Trip. On these charters only beer, wine, or alcoholic sodas may be brought aboard and enjoyed responsibly by those of legal drinking age – NO HARD ALCOHOL, AND NO MIXED DRINKS ALLOWED.
3) The client (and all guests) certify they understand that should substances illegal under Federal Law, or alcohol (except as outlined in #2 above), be discovered by Captain Jacob V. Abbisso (or partnering Captains) while on charter, the charter will end, our vessel (and/or those of partnering Captains) will immediately return to shore, and the incident will be reported to the authorities, as appropriate.
CANCELLATION POLICY
By doing business with Big Fish Mojo Sportfishing, the client agrees to our cancellation policy:
Clients may reschedule or cancel their charter up to one week in advance of their trip for a full refund, no questions asked. If you need to reschedule or cancel less than a week prior to your trip, please be in touch with us. No-shows who have not given notice of their need to cancel will be automatically charged 50% of the price of their charter.
INCLEMENT WEATHER
Safety on the water is our top priority, hands down. Captain Jake will run charters in the dark, wind, fog, or rain as long as conditions are safe. However, if conditions are forecasted to be unsafe, extremely unpleasant, or formidable on the day of the charter, Captain Jake reserves the right to reschedule charters at any time. If a rain-date charter is not scheduled or desired by the client, a full refund can be given.
HOW MANY PASSENGERS ARE ALLOWED?
Most Trips: 4 Passengers
Tuna Charters and Shark Charters: 3 Passengers
Please be in touch if there will be more passengers in your party than typically allowed. Buddy-boat trips with other local fishing guides may be possible. Advance notice is needed for tandem trips, and charter pricing is multiplied by the number of Captains hired.
SAFETY MEASURES/LICENSING
When it comes to safety, here at Big Fish Mojo Sportfishing we go above and beyond. Our vessel is equipped with the necessary safety gear and equipment required by the USCG to run UPV charters AND MORE (including an EPIRB, a SOLAS/USCG Approved 50+ Mile Distress Signal Kit, a Garmin In-Reach with GPS, extensive first aid supplies, and state of the art marine electronics/radar). We also hold all the necessary fishing permits for our trips in both Massachusetts and Federal waters (which cover clients while on board – no need to purchase your own fishing permits). In addition, Captain Jacob V. Abbisso holds a valid USCG Master Captain’s License, a valid TWIC card, and a valid Adult+Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
